On Saturday October 21st we officially launched the Fatima C. Souare brand! The Fall/Winter collection, "Wrapped to Perfection" debuted in New York City, in partnership with retail store Art to Ware at their Port Authority location. A cheery yellow backdrop, accompanied by pampas, gold accents and Amina Magazine gave a glimpse into the world of Fatima C. Souare.
"Wrapped to Perfection" captures the interplay between the strength and softness of femininity. I wanted to focus on items that were personal to women. As a Guinean American woman, I was taught that presentation is important outside and inside the home. Designing pieces that make dressing up easier was key.
During my pregnancy I found myself gravitating to items that I could just throw on and go. The problem was that fashion became an after-thought and moving forward I did not want that to be the case. Being intentional about what I was throwing on and ensuring that they were comfortable and feminine was also important. I kept this in mind as I developed the core items to represent the brand. The items in this collection are Flexible, Durable and Fit for You.
